A computer is a wonderful thing
As you can plainly see.
They solve so many problems
It surprises both you and me.
What if the were invented
More than a thousand years ago.
And every time you hit a key
A different whistle would blow.
Neighbors up and down the street
That used to visit with you.
Now pass in silence as they go
They think they'll have to sue.
But the neighbors could not resist
And now have these strange machines.
That now loudly whistle both night and day
And destroy our pleasant dreams.
Something had to happen
A curfew had to be.
Seven voted no in our Senate
But the ya's passed by 93.
Now life is quiet and peaceful
I'm so happy now to say.
We go to bed each evening
And sleep till break of day.
It was only a dream
But the thought occurred to me.
Wouldn't it be nice and peaceful
If life could return to normal.
As it used to be?
