St. Joseph's

St. Joseph's Catholic Church is located at 990 Highland Drive, Elko, Nevada.  The church was established, in Elko, in 1917.  Reverend Norman King is the pastor.  In 1998, a monument to all of the unborn children was dedicated on the lawn.  In 2000, Father King planted Hybrid Tea roses in the small garden about the monument.  Some of the roses chosen were:  Chrysler Imperial, Double Delight, and Fragrant Cloud.  The garden is thriving and the roses - truly beautiful.

"Are we not all God's children?" . . .

"Yes, I believe so, even the unborn."

From my heart

I say to you

Love your children

Raise them true

Be gently firm

And help them pray

Our time is short

Do not delay.

Let them know

How much you care

And when there's heartaches

That you'll be there

Help them to believe

In God's eternal love

Teach them what they need to do

To one day be, in heaven above

Permission to photograph the garden and add it to the internet site was provided by Reverend King.  It is meant to display the beauty of nature and the church's garden.  The poem was inspired by the monument and roses, while I was visiting the garden.

This page is not, in any way, meant to be a statement of doctrine for the Catholic Church.  That is best left to the Honorable Reverend King.  He can be reached by using the link provided at the top of this page.
