to 03/03/03 There
is a man that we have known Whose
light for many has brightly shone. Shown
them the way out of despair Into
a world of fresh clean air. He
is a bigger man than most. Yes,
a long shadow he can boast. But
it is the inner stature that we know - Which
helped our boys to learn and grow. Now
that his thirty-two years are in And
his retirement is about to begin We
wish to pause for this brief moment To
say he must have been … Heaven sent. In
his time, he learned thousands of names Coached
innumerable games Listened
to millions of excuses Endured
threats and abuses. But
he is best remembered this day As
a caring man - with an honest way. Who
took on the most difficult pace With
competence, warmth and grace. He
truly molded boys into men. Constantly
forgave them of their sin. Showed
them there was a better plan. And
helped them reach this bold new land. One
last comment is all we require - They
say magicians never retire They
just disappear …. May his future be both bright and clear.
