Life is Not a Vast Flat Plain
|
Life is not a vast flat plain. Nor a land just filled with hills and valleys. But it also contains majestic mountain peaks And deep sheer canyons with swift streams.
There are also both tropical paradises And treacherous stormy seas. There, too, are dark and frightening caverns. Where demons lurk both night and day.
I have traveled much of this land. To these conclusions I have been drawn. First. Enjoy the peaks! The memories are worth the climb. Next, if you can, avoid the nether world of the caverns.
They can be terrifying and you can easily loose your way. Depression like mushroom spores develop quickly here. Frustration and hopelessness can easily set in. Be gentle with yourself, as you search for a way out.
Lastly, it is best to journey this land with a companion. To share the scenic views and warm days. To hold tight together on the dark stormy nights. Someone who can be of help in times of despair.
To hold a flashlight and help show the way. Or just to be with on a bright and sunny day.
