Larry 's Wish
|
Larry the lobster - bright and blue. Cruising the tank - to see what's new. Little leggies long and lean. Little tail - squeaky clean.
Great big pinchers - go clickity clip. As the new fish - gets a snip. One step forward, two steps back. Now up to the castle, for a rear attack.
Prancing an dancing the do-si-do. Man this crustacean can really go. Swing the angel round and round. Knock a red barb to the ground.
It's up to the lighthouse, for a view. From here he can see, all that's new. Now like a squirrel he begins to sail. Gliding and clipping at an angel's veil.
Digging holes all over the tank. Then off we go for another prank. Life is never boring for Larry's fish. And that's precisely ... Larry's wish.

On October 12, 2001, I received a letter from 'poetry.com'. It said
the above poem was in the semi-finals and that we had an
excellent chance of "winning one of 104 cash or gift prizes -
including the $1,000.00 Grand Prize. My wife Dorothy, son Harry and
I, discussed this with Larry and here's
Larry 's Dream
|
We promised Larry if we won some cash, to Dorothy's Fish Store, we would dash. Lasso a little sweetie with a net. Bring her home ... and name her Lariat.
Larry's now just filled with sighs. He can already see - her deep blue eyes. All over the tank, they could roam. This would be their ... happy home.
Snuggling close on a cold winter's night. The wedding would be quite a sight. Raising a little family of their own. Instead of being here ... all alone.
Holding her body close to his. Thoughts of this, makes the water fizz. Maybe they could make the water steam! Well, at least, that's ... Larry's dream. - Dan Turner 10/14/01 Elko, Nevada |
