Indian Cottage is one of the dorms at the Nevada Youth Training Center for boys in Elko, Nevada.  Night shift is commonly known as the "paper work" shift.

It’s five AM

Still dark outside

Night work’s done

Keyboard’s put aside.

Forms have been filled out

Grades have been compiled

Graphs been drawn

And the paperwork’s filed.

Fresh pot of coffee’s on

First cup tastes mighty good

The boys are still fast asleep

It’s all goin’ as it should.

Three hours to go

Then I’ll be head’n home

Hope the boys wake up mellow

And they don't piss and moan.

Saturday mornin's a special time

For a night-man here

Gives you a chance to breath

Help's your mind to clear.
