Elevation: 6,212 feet
Elko County, Nevada
Dorsey Reservoir is a relatively small reservoir on Dorsey Creek. It is about a 30 minute drive north of Elko on the Mountain City Highway. Fishing is good in the spring after the reservoir has been stocked. By summer the water level is low or the fishing is slim. It is a good lake to take the kids as access is easy, fishing is good for smaller fish and there are not a lot of bushes on the shore to entangle the youngster's lines. The dam was raised about ten feet or so in height in 2000. So if the reservoir looks a little bigger than you remember - that may be why. If you wish to add more ... just let me know.
