Featured Rose
Distant Drums, Buck, 1985 Elko County Rose Garden 6/26/00 A Distinctive and truly unique shrub rose, bred from 'September Song' and the English Rose 'The Yoeman'. 3' x 2' (height x width), bronze brown in center and lavender in outer petals, with yellow stamens, double, 40 petaled flowers, in clusters up to 10, anise-like fragrance, excellent repeat, hardy to zone 4, very minor winter dieback in our zone 5A, erect growth habit. One of the parents of 'The Yoeman' is 'Constance Spry' and one of its parents is the Gallica 'Belle Isis'. 'September Song' is another Buck rose. Distant Drums is one of my all-time favorite roses!
