Fifty Seven

Fifty Seven

Years of heaven
Years of wedded bliss
and much more than this

Thanks to Ike
There was Mike
Born into a world at war
Life to him was not to be a bore

Then came Dan
Gentle as a lamb
Took most of life in stride
In a small town he does reside

There were times I must admit
That it seemed much easier to quit
But look'n back on all we've done
I must admit we had great fun

There were times not for the meek
Of which I do not wish to speak
When all about us seemed like hell
But on these times I shall not dwell

The times before us are so unclear
But the times of old - I hold so dear
As for now I wish only to say
God bless you both on this special day
